Top Ten Tuesday: Characters Everyone Loves But I Don’t Get

Welcome to Top Ten Tuesdays: a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. The topic of March 8, 2016 is about ten characters everyone seems to love but I don’t get or vice versa.

Top Ten Tuesday

1. Penryn from Angelfall by Susan Ee
I liked that Penryn was an independent and brave heroine, but I just didn’t feel really connected to her.

2. Ruby from The Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken
The author made it clear that Ruby had gone through a lot of trauma. However I just didn’t like her character very much or the decisions she made sometimes.

3. Meira from Snow Like Ashes by Sara Raasch
Although I didn’t necessarily want Meira to die (she does prove herself to be very capable in the book), I didn’t exactly really like and cheer for her in the book.

4. Thomas from The Maze Runner by James Dashner
After the end of The Scorch Trials and The Death Cure, I just couldn’t bring myself to like Thomas, especially at the end of The Death Cure where I was very mad at him.

5. Wylan from Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo
Again, I just didn’t really connect to his character.

I was not able to think of five more popular characters who I just didn’t get, so I have a Top 5 list. What characters / books are on your TTT’s this week? Feel free to post a link to your TTT in a comment–I’d love to check them out 🙂
